Dysport ThumbnailWe are winding down on our study & thank everyone who participated.

The question was:  How does Dysport compare to Botox - does it last longer & is it more effective?

The answer is:  Yes, no or maybe.  They are both botulinum toxin and work very similarly.

The primary difference is the number of units required.  We are seeing approximately a 3 to one unit difference.  In eyes it takes 1 unit of Botox. You will need approximately 3 units of Dysport.

  • Time of onset is about the same, 3-4 days average.
  • Injection site the same.
  • The price of Dysport is slightly less expensive.
  • Longevity is still yet to be seen.  We expect a similar amount of longevity.

How to choose?  A lot will depend on which company is offering the best deal.  Ah yes, Free Market reigns supreme.
